Air flotation process


Air flotation is an alternative to sedimentation in water treatment. It is a process of forming highly dispersed tiny bubbles in water, which adhere to hydrophobic solid or liquid particles in wastewater, forming a three-phase mixing system of water-gas-particles, and after the particles adhere to the bubbles, they form flocs with an apparent density smaller than water and float to the water surface, forming a scraping layer, thus achieving solid-liquid or liquid-liquid separation.

Air flotation is divided into super-efficient shallow air flotation, vortex air flotation, and advection air flotation.
